SEAFARERS’ SLICE OF PIZZA PERFECTION

What could be better after weeks on the high seas than a delicious slice of Hell pizza? Happily for Sea Shepherd’s 25 vegan volunteers on board the Sam Simon, Satan’s Little Helper granted their wish when the ship docked at Auckland’s Princes Wharf.

“We’d been working really hard and were crying out for a tasty treat,” said ship manager Sonja Hyppänen. “We contacted Satan’s Little Helper and he hooked us up with $200 of vegan Hell pizzas! They disappeared almost as soon as we got them on board – but I think our galley crew was the most excited; they got a night off cooking!” Sea Shepherd is an international conservation group, with a mission ‘to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans, in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species’. “It’s good to know businesses like Hell care about the ocean and its inhabitants, and support our cause,” said Sonja. The Sinister is Hell’s trademark vegan pizza, topped with refried beans, avocado, onions, salsa, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers and capsicum. This year, vegan cheese was also added to the menu, providing an even wider choice for Hell fans that way inclined.
